A little bit about me...I started out as a Runner at RSA Films in 1986 and pounded the streets of Soho with U-matics and rolls of film under my arm. I got to work with most of RSA's directors while I was there, including Ridley and Tony Scott, Lester Bookbinder, John Marles, Chris Hartwill and David Bailey.
It was an amazing time and it spurred me on to go freelance in 1990, working as a Location Manager and Second AD on commercials with some of the best Assistant Directors around - Gerry Gavigan, Chris Rose and David Tringham. From there, I got lucky in making the double-leap to feature films and becoming a 1st AD by working on 'Leon The Pig Farmer' which made quite a stir at the time by being the first film to pay on deferred fees - a lot of people criticised us at the time but I got a lot out of the experience and I was still receiving the cheques nearly 20 years later. The years that followed saw me working on commercials, TV productions, feature films, documentaries and pop promos - so I guess I have had a lot of experience, shooting all kinds of productions in many parts of the world with all sorts of directors - Stephan Poliakoff, Beeban Kidron, Taylor Hackford... You can see the details for yourself on my CV just here... ☜ Thanks for getting this far down the page (!) and do get in touch if you'd like to know more or you'd like to meet up sometime. Richard |
